The Accountant II has increasing responsibilities for ensuring compliance with internal controls and executing general accounting activities per US GAAP. This position to includes the day-to-day maintenance of complete and accurate general ledger transactions with detailed GL account reconciliations. This position provides basic analytics on financial reporting, accounts receivable aging and seeks to understand the reason behind the numbers. The Accountant II may work on special company-wide projects.
Essential Job Duties:
- Demonstrate commitment and behavior aligned with the philosophy, mission, values and vision of Network Health
- Appropriately apply all organizational, regulatory, and credentialing principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies
- Assist in preparation and review of work papers for Annual and Quarterly reporting as needed.
- Provide support for all GAAP & STAT audits and address any auditor inquiries.
- Prepare schedules, charts and analytical data for financial reports and presentations.
- Accurately prepare supporting documentation for the creation of general journal and intercompany entries
- Review and maintain balance sheet accruals and reserves to ensure balances are appropriate
- Develop & maintain procedures to document day-to-day Finance duties
- Process daily bank transactions, monitor daily activity, along with completing bank reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and standard business practices
- Assist in training new accountants
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:
- Strong analytical, accounting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong aptitude for working with financial reporting systems
- Ability to interpret raw financial data into easily understood financial reports and forecasts
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Intermediate Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, such as PowerPoint, and Word; Advanced skills with Excel; basic working knowledge of Visio
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines
Minimum Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree Accounting required
Minimum Related Years of Experience (per minimum education) Required:
- Three or more years of experience in an accounting related field required
- Insurance industry experience preferred.
- Medicaid accounting preferred.
Credential/Licensure Required:
-
CPA or CMA preferred.
