What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Intelligence Systems Analyst position at Opportunities?
The Business Intelligence Systems Analyst is responsible for analytical and system support along with managing project enhancements and defect resolution. Includes creation of Project Scope Documents, Business Requirements, and Test Case definition. Translates business needs into technical specifications. Provides subject matter expertise and problem resolution for reporting needs; including, but not limited to Core Banking and Enterprise systems and applications. Responsible for the conversion,
ongoing support and enhancement of the Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence program. Job responsibilities are performed with a significant degree of latitude and autonomy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure process changes are accurate, effective, and fully documented.
- Prepare thorough remediation steps for issues that arise during configuration and testing.
- Apply business expertise and analytical skills to resolve business issues and challenges.
- Update procedures, standards, and other documentation under the direction of a senior management.
- Process configuration changes, such as user access, parameter settings and workflows.
- Assist with minor and major release readiness by supporting Development and QA team.
- Collaborate with end users to understand reporting requirements
- Use SQL or similar tools to prototype initial reports for proof of concept
- Create a variety of simple to complex reports utilizing SSRS, Power BI, and Excel.
- Maintain detailed documentation for each report/query generated.
- Interpret and provide appropriate analysis of reported data.
- Work with Leadership and Business owners to define project scope and produce scope documents.
- Participate in meetings, maintain meeting minutes, and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Convert business requirements defined in project scope to test cases for development team.
- Represent Data Analytics team on project meetings and cross-functional teams.
- Conduct analyses used to support management decisions.
- Coordinate UAT with business owners for internal system changes.
- Execute UAT for external system changes.
- Work with business partners to create training materials and ensure business is prepared to accept change.
- Prepare release documentation to ensure system changes are documented and any outstanding issues are identified and mitigated.
- Ensure QA and UAT testing meets established acceptance criteria before Change Mgmt. approval.
- Oversee test execution schedule and milestones to ensure biweekly and quarterly sprints are deployed on-time.
- Execute Test Scripts, validate actual vs. expected test results; document details when results do not meet expected results.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of Banking, Business Analyst, and Quality Assurance experience required.
- 5 years of experience defining project scope, developing system requirements and working with production support required.
- Experience with process mapping and/or workflow tools required.
- Proficient with SQL and database methodologies.
- Strong MS Excel, Word, and Visio skills.
A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base salary or pay for this position is $38.32/hr to $57.49/hr. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. A discretionary bonus and/or business line incentive may be provided, in addition to a medical and other benefits, dependent on the position.
