Runnings has a career opportunity for a Buyer’s Assistant in our Retail Support Center. We are looking for energetic individuals with excellent analytical skills who are interested in an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment. This position will be focused in the Apparel category and will report to the Apparel Buyer. The Buyers Assistant is responsible for the basic replenishment, re-buying and managing of inventory. This position utilizes previous experience and judgment as a basis for planning and accomplishing goals in a variety of tasks. The Buyer's Assistant works under the general supervision of a Buyer. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Pay range is $16.00 - $19.00/hour depending on experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RETAIL BUYER
- Assists the Buyers in all areas of merchandise procurement
- Enters and transmits Purchase Orders into the system
- Monitors purchase orders to assure timely and satisfactory delivery
- Contacts suppliers to expedite delivery, when necessary
- Resolves any receiving or invoice discrepancies that may arise
- Utilizes sufficient writing/verbal skills to clearly communicate issues
- Build relationships and maintains contact with stores and vendors
- Other responsibilities as called upon
Skill Set Requirements:
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Excel in a fast paced, evolving work environment
- Strong computer skills, especially a working knowledge of Excel
- Excellent oral and written skills
