QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or health related field required
- Postgraduate Degree in Nursing, Health Administration or Business Administration preferred. Knowledge and skills associated with an advanced degree; or a written plan to obtain these qualifications, required.
- Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Senior management and administrative experience required.
- Must possess knowledge about health care services and operations, strategic planning and data processing systems as applied to hospitals, physician relations and trends and challenges in healthcare.
- Requires a thorough understanding of standards of care, experience in healthcare management and care delivery, and compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements, policies and procedures.
- Ability to combine strategic and detailed perspectives.
- Ability to effectively motivate, develop and manage staff while performing multiple and diverse tasks.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex issues and recommend actions/remedial actions resulting in revenue enhancements, cost savings and other initiatives directly contributing to financial performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees all aspects of clinical performance and operations of OSS Health
- Responsible for financial performance outcomes established.
- Establishes and maintains an open line of communication with the physicians and staff at OSS Health.
- Ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulation, and accrediting organization standards.
- Participates in strategic planning, priority setting, and program development in collaboration with OSS Health executive team, medical staff, and other key stakeholders.
- Contributes to hospital effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
- Maintains hospital legal requirements by interpreting hospital policy and state nursing laws; investigating potential breaches; studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; advising CEO on needed actions.
- Defines nursing practices by encouraging and supporting research and potential quality improvement efforts.
- Responsible for comprehensive care management strategies that are focused on supporting OSS Health’s aspirations of improving patient outcomes, enhancing musculoskeletal service line care coordination, and advancing total cost of care improvements.
- Identifies future nursing services requirements by establishing rapport across interdisciplinary services; interpreting information from potential and actual patients and families; conferring with people in a position to understand service requirements.
- Maintains credentialed staff by keeping abreast of advances and specialty opportunities in new and emerging nursing services and technologies.
- Maintains nursing services operations by defining required program and operational and personnel policies and implementing a nursing strategy.
- In partnership with OSS Physician President, VP of Medical Affairs, and Executive Leadership team, advocates for and oversees the implementation of new technologies and innovations in nursing practice.
- Maintains a collaborative patient services work environment by fostering a spirit of interdisciplinary cooperation among nursing services, medical staff, and support and ancillary services.
- Attends executive leadership level meetings and committees as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises Inpatient Services Manager, VP of Surgical Services, Pharmacy Director, Clinical Education Manager, Manager of Surgical Optimization, Lab Manager
