SALARY: $85,000 - $95,000 DOE
OVERVIEW:
The Director of Nonprofit Capacity Building will work to strengthen the Greater Houston nonprofit ecosystem and ensure that nonprofit organizations, leaders, and networks develop expertise to achieve success in their pursuit of local, state, and federal public grants. This vital position will serve as an integral member of the United Way of Greater Houston Nonprofit Connection (NPC) team. The incumbent will work to develop nonprofit talent, advance nonprofit growth, connect nonprofit organizations to resources, and establish nonprofit networks.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Nonprofit Capacity Building: Participate in the development of tools and strategies that will enable area nonprofits to access and secure public funding opportunities. Coordinate and assist in the delivery of cohort-based webinars and workshops that address all facets of the public funding continuum. Create various forms of learning: in-person, online and self-directed. Provide connections to mentoring and individual and group coaching opportunities. Create networking opportunities with peers and other professionals to problem-solve and provide mutual learning and support.
- Project Management and Oversight: Provide day-to-day project management support. Develop and monitor project work plans and budgets. Supervise the project work of staff and consultants to ensure achievement of key performance indicators. Oversee the execution and monitoring of professional contracts and MOUs with consultants, evaluators, community partners and vendors. Develop and manage a grant application, selection and monitoring process.
- Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with diverse organizational partners, particularly those in underserved communities. Recruit participants from a broad constituency, both in person and digitally. Convene and facilitate small and large group discussions designed to foster partnerships and collaborative ventures.
- Cross-functional Engagement: Build strong cross-functional relationships with internal departments and consultants. Maintain open channels of communication through various channels with internal and external constituencies to promote activities, share learning and identify evolving needs.
- Other: Performs special assignments and other work as needed or assigned.
