Fleet Services Maintenance Technician - Seasonal

- $15.50 - $19.00 per hour (depending on qualifications) opportunity for end of the season bonus! ($0.50 for every hour worked)
- Part Time (Part-time/Temporary/Seasonal Status), Non-Exempt
- Reports to Fleet Services Manager
- Located at Maintenance Facility (15150 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55344)
- Typical hours are Monday- Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm; Part time hours are available.
Responsibilities
The Fleet Services Seasonal Maintenance position uses hand tools and power equipment to perform a wide variety of maintenance and support activities for the Fleet Services department. This position may operate various vehicles and equipment as part of the service and repair function of the department. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:
- Performs a variety of fleet maintenance activities by using hand and power tools, operating vehicles, operating riding lawn mowers and light duty equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance and light duty repairs to City vehicles and equipment.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of all maintenance activities, identifies parts and supplies required using computerized systems provided.
- Uses City vehicles to run parts and provide pickup and delivery services.
- Assists with shop cleanup activities and routine safety inspections.
- Demonstrates safe equipment operation and work habits in the Fleet shop and on the road.
- While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older, related experience in an automotive or truck related field preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) required. Valid Driver’s License and excellent driving record, required.
- This position requires the ability to lift/carry/push/pull 50-75 lbs, operate a motor vehicle and work under all weather conditions.
- Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City’s evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre-employment processes for this position includes professional reference checks, background check, driver’s license check, work verification and education verification if applicable.
