JOB OVERVIEW:
United Way is seeking a strong Grant Compliance Analyst to join its Finance Department who will oversee the compliance of all government grants in accordance with the Uniform Guidance and applicable state and local compliance requirements. The Analyst is primarily responsible for compliance accounting, grant reporting, including monthly payroll reporting for grant reimbursements, maintaining required schedules for internal/external reporting, tracking of adherence to the grants accounting operating budgets throughout the year, preparation and maintenance of annual payroll budgets, and procurement.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTES:
- Manages and oversees the maintenance of the grants awarded to the United Way of Greater Houston. Reviews and/or prepares journal entries, accounts payable, expense statements, and internal grant financial reports, including Statement of Expenditures of Federal and State Awards (SEFA/SESA). Ensures the correct, accurate and timely accounting classification and proper documentation of all allowable grant expenditures. Ensures that internal controls over grants is in place and operating effectively.
- Provides oversight and monitoring of each of the grant awards and related compliance requirements, including reconciliation of allowable expenses to grant awards. Ensures reconciliation with accounting records, procurement duties, and monitors adherence to the approved budgets throughout the fiscal year. Responsibilities include accounting and compliance of federal and state grants, management of funds received, and assisting with determination of allowable expenditures that can be paid by each funding stream. Audits federal grants to ensure all required elements are appropriately complete.
- Prepares monthly financial reports for grant reporting and other reports as needed for budgets and operational needs. Assists with monthly journal entries and closing entries related to grants.
- Directs work paper preparation and provides counsel and support for the external Single Audit of United Way of Greater Houston.
- Provides supervisor and others in management with information necessary for developing forecasts and financial plans related to grants and payroll. Provides advice and counsel on grants and related compliance matters to the managers of other departments.
- Performs additional duties and other special projects as assigned.
Salary : $62,000 - $65,000
