Burr & Forman LLP seeks a full-time, experienced immigration paralegal to fill a senior role in the Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, or Mobile, AL office. This role will provide critical support to the firm’s immigration practice through the preparation, filing, and tracking of various immigration applications and petitions, and will provide mentorship to other case specialists/support for business process efficiency. KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
- Prepare immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions, manage labor certification cases, adjust status applications, and handle employment-based immigration cases for clients in a variety of industries.
- Compile and analyze complex case facts and documents, and prepare reports and other relevant immigration documents.
- Maintain and manage case files including tracking of cases, determining related deadlines, and responding to status inquiries.
- Communicate extensively with clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, and government agencies.
- Draft immigration correspondence, including support letters and other key documents, for attorney review.
- Support attorneys in providing training and mentorship to support staff, and in developing workflows and procedures for preparing and monitoring cases.
- Perform other responsibilities as necessary to deliver bottom-line results and exceptional client service.
THE ESSENTIALS
- A bachelor’s degree, paralegal certification or degree, and/or appropriate combination of education/experience.
- Four years of immigration paralegal or comparable experience. PERM, NIW, and EB-1 experience is a plus.
- Highly organized, detail-orientated, and proactive, with a desire to take ownership.
- Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
- Work collaboratively as a member of the team and with a variety of audiences.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and research skills.
- Proficiency in Word, PDF, Excel, and PowerPoint with knowledge of LawLogix or other immigration software a plus.
