Position Summary
With an emphasis on die casting, this is a hand-on position focusing on providing support to production departments that leads to the addressing and resolution of quality issues through the use of effective problem-solving tools and techniques. While the primary emphasis will be on die cast quality issues, this position will also have include providing the same level of support to CNC and subcontract/supplier quality issues.
Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks
- Lead problem solving teams to address customer complaints and internal quality issues.
- Manage internal and external corrective actions and preventive actions using corrective action database and/or customer specific formats.
- Utilize problem solving tools to improve die cast process performance and reduce scrap.
- Maintain, update, and train appropriate employees on manufacturing quality plans including inspection and control plans, as well as, operator work instructions.
- Disposition suspect product and materials using customer requirements and knowledge of product end use.
- Analyze and interpret prints, data, manuals, and other materials to understand product requirements.
- Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications
- Train appropriate employees on the use of gaging, customer requirements, and quality plans and operator work instructions.
- Issue and track RMA’s.
- Communicate quality issues with suppliers and subcontractors and work with them to resolve performance issues. Travel to suppliers and subcontractors as needed or required.
- Provide leadership in establishing a quality culture and maintaining the integrity of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Provide guidance in interpreting ISO/TS 16949 standards and internal policies to assure compliance and serve as an internal auditor as assigned.
- Maintain complete confidentiality relating to sensitive business, financial, and personnel issues.
- Responsible for knowing and following all environmental, health and safety rules, policies, and procedures for work area and takes responsibility to assure that personal work activity is conducted in such a way so as to not affect the safety of themselves or others.
- This position requires strict adherence to US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Candidates must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations.

Education and Experience
- Training in vocational school or an associate’s degree with 5 year’s quality experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably with knowledge & understanding of die casting and/or precision machining
- Proven problem-solving proficiency within a manufacturing (preferably die casting) environment.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
- Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, including GD&T.
