JOB TITLE: Regional Director of Operations

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the distant supervision of the COO, the incumbent is responsible for oversight of the clinical and financial administrative operations of the regional outpatient sites. This position is part of the organization’s growth-oriented leadership team and will work in collaboration with the medical team to accomplish goals. This position provides overall leadership, direction, and planning to achieve excellence in the delivery of patient care at OSS Health, simultaneously creating an exceptional work environment for providers and staff. Position is accountable for operational, clinical, and business development activities for the regional sites. Position ensures regulatory and OSS Health policies and procedures are implemented for efficient, effective, proactive management of the sites.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree required
Qualifications:
· A minimum of two years of administrative and/or supervisory experience in a healthcare facility or two years Physician practice leadership experience required.
· Previous orthopedic service line and hospital experience preferred
· Experience working within a matrix environment preferred
· Experience in managing office operations preferred
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, plus health care database and EMR systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develops and implements organizationally approved operational and strategic plans related to services offered within each regional site.
· Provides leadership and direction to responsible staff, maintaining a work environment that promotes the creative development of ideas and allows all employees reporting to this position to meet or exceed established standards of performance.
· Works within medical practices to develop business strategies, manage budgets, and oversee day-to-day operations.
· Establish goals and processes to achieve five-star patient experience.
· Works collaboratively with the key OSS leaders as appropriate to ensure appropriate support of physicians who practice at the regional sites.
· Monitors all financials including but not limited to: budgets, accounts receivable and the financial projections. Ensures that the regional site departments meet and/or exceed volume growth initiatives and all performance metrics.
· Develops and monitors policies and procedures and is responsible for implementing and tracking all quality and patient perception of care initiatives.
· Assures all regulatory compliance relative to operations within the regional sites.
· Ensures high volume, high satisfaction/engagement for patients, physicians and staff.
· Anticipates physician needs. Ensures all departments are environments that represent the highest professionalism.
· Manages staffing patterns, hires, evaluates and trains staff to perform at optimum cost-effective quality-driven performance. Creates and maintains point of care structure that supports physicians appropriately.
· Displays consistent behavior that enhances the public image of the organization as evidenced by professionalism in interactions with peers, subordinates, customers (patients, families, physicians, payors, vendors, etc.) Serves as a role model for all personnel through enthusiasm, commitment, and a willingness to do what needs to be done.
· Maintains strict confidentiality in areas of patient, employee, and physician relations.
· Ensure that employees maintain competencies (position specific and organization wide) required for the specific patient populations served.
· Performs all duties in accordance with safety and other laws, rules and regulations set forth by appropriate regulatory and government agencies and in accordance with established department and hospital policies and procedures.
· May be required to perform similar or related duties reflective of the level of experience as may be necessary on an emergency, temporary or limited basis.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises Clinical Supervisors and Office Supervisors
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be proficient in the English language, both verbally and written, to communicate effectively with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, vendors, payers and federal agencies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Long periods of standing and or sitting. May require bending and stooping. Fine and gross motor skills and manual dexterity to operate keyboard and other equipment. Frequently works under pressure to meet deadlines or deal with problem situations. Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to an emergency.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Climate controlled environment with occasional periods of being outside. Exposed to bloodborne pathogens, odorous chemicals and specimens, toxic chemicals, electrical and mechanical hazards, confused or combative patients, bio-contaminated waste, and unpleasant elements. Subject to stressful situations, long or irregular hours.
