The Area
Delta Junction, AK is a small city in the Southeast Fairbanks. Though the town is small, it offers a good choice of restaurants and even has its own brewery. Several lodging options are available including inns, bed & breakfasts, and vacation rentals.
It is an agricultural community, and visitors can taste the local produce at Highway's End Farmer's Market across from the visitor's center at the Triangle. Local vendors sell fresh vegetables, jams, jellies, baked goods, local meat (buffalo, caribou, elk), and many other home-grown items.
Within an hour's drive of Delta Junction are 5 state recreation areas : Quartz Lake State Recreation Area, Fielding Lake State Recreation Area, Delta State Recreation Site, Donnelly Creek State Recreation Site, and Clearwater State Recreation Site. These wilderness areas offer many outdoor recreation opportunities including camping, fishing, wildlife viewing, canoeing, and hiking.
Winters are very cold and can get to -55 degrees with windchill.

We also welcome visitors from outside of our area, so please know if you are visiting our area we can assist you. Walk-ins are always welcome. Clinic is part of Cross Roads Health Ministries out of Glennallen, AK and is a Christian faith based organization. Mission statement: Cross Road Health Ministries, Inc. will show the love of the Lord Jesus Christ through accessible quality health care.
Cross Road is now organized as an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation and is recognized as a FQHC site and is overseen by a Board of Directors comprised of Christians representing Cross Road's service areas.
The Position
Permanent Family Medicine NP/PA position
Type of clinic/specialty: Outpatient Family Medicine Clinic
MUST be able to see all ages (infant to geriatrics)
Prefer 2 years of experience, but may consider 1 year for right candidate. They are rural and the only clinic in the area. Looking for provider experienced enough to handle what may come into clinic. Even though they won't be solo, they do NOT have staff to train a new grad.
How many hours per week: 38 hrs per week, Clinic is now only open Tues-Fri 9a-6:30p
Clinic Hours: Tuesday-Friday 9a-6:30p
Call schedule: No call req'd as they have a PA who takes their call. Could look at occasional need or rotating if desired.
How many patients per day: varies, but less than 20 anticipated and range is usually 12-17 per day. See locals and tourists
Types of cases: Typical Family Medicine Patient population for Clinic need. NP may assist in Urgent Care cases that may come in, but not focus (ie: bear/moose attacks, chainsaw injuries, snowmobile/atv accidents)
Full support staff: MAs and RNs
They structure is now only seeing same day appointments with an occasional walk-in
BLS and ACLS required - can assist in obtaining if needed
EMR system: Athena
AK license and DEA required - would consider pending AK license if someone has a true desire to relocate and be in area long term. They work with AK board to help expedite AK license process as long as provider has no BG issues can get it to go quickly.
Payor enrollment takes approx 3 months so may look at starting with a lower salary and then increasing once provider is set up with all insurances.
Site Credentialing: approx 2 weeks, must have AK license to start working
Compensation And Benefits
Salary range: $80,000 - $125,000 (they realize that $80K is low and working on 2025 budgets and fully expect ranges to go up so put $90K to start on low end - will consider all salary expectations and discuss directly with provider).
Benefits: full package including medical, dental, eye.
Retirement: IRA match of 3%
PTO: 4 weeks a year and will also offer 2 weeks paid mission leave annually
CME: paid time and travel to complete
