General Responsibilities/Job Summary
This position is responsible for operating the S.M.I.L.E program including program development, staff management, client recruitment, and volunteer relationships.
The position reports to the Director of Shelter & Food Services and is flexible and may require some nights and weekends.
Essential Functions/Duties
- Directs, instructs, and supervises program activities designed to meet the needs of the clients and fulfill the programs objectives.
- Recruits, trains, and schedules program staff and volunteers.
- Identifies and cultivates resources focused on life skills, mental health and wellness, independence, financial literacy to provide activities and training for adult shelter clients.
- Expands program offerings in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Supports and coaches program staff in delivering meaningful experiences.
- Provides community education and awareness.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
- Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
- Assists in fund raising activities and special events.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all client and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
- Maintains grant program requirements including documentation, training, budget adherence and deadlines.
- Leads and maintains positive relationships with clients, volunteers, vendors, and staff.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to two years case management, coaching, and/or mentoring related experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory skills preferred.
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Work effectively with persons who have diverse styles, abilities, motivations, and backgrounds
- Adapt to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned
- Arrive to work promptly and regularly;
Certification/Licenses:
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License

Pay: $43,888.00 - $48,300.00 per year
