What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director position at Opportunity School?
The Assistant Director works closely with the Director and will support the teachers as needed. The Assistant Director will demonstrate leadership abilities by creating and maintaining a positive learning environment for all families and children enrolled. The Assistant Director assists the Director in operating the center in accordance with Child Care Regulations policies, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications/Special skills needed for this position include:
- Associate Degree in ECE or related field or Associate Degree in any field with hours in Early Childhood or classroom experience
- Have classroom experience in an early childhood center
- Have experience in a management type of position
- Have current knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards for Childcare
- Have current understanding and knowledge of Early Head Start and Head Start, Texas Rising Star, Texas School Ready, and NAEYC requirements
Major responsibilities and duties:
- Acts as a member of the leadership team to provide support, guidance and mentorship to classroom teachers
- Be able to assist the Director in monitoring curriculum, best practices and classroom environments
- Be able to assist the Director with scheduling and day to day center responsibilities
- Meet expectations for delivering excellent customer service to staff, children and families
- Participating in recruitment efforts to support full classroom enrollment and community involvement.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
