Description
SUMMARY
Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting Opportunity Village's accounting operations. This position is responsible for daily and monthly financial accounting tasks, including account reconciliations, financial analysis, preparation of journal entries, and the maintenance of financial records. The Staff Accountant ensures the accurate and timely completion of these duties as part of the month-end close process and assists with maintaining effective financial reporting.
The Staff Accountant will manage routine accounting functions such as accounts payable / receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Additionally, this role may involve the creation of spreadsheets, reports, and financial analysis for management to provide valuable insights into the organization's financial health. This individual will work closely with various departments to ensure the accurate processing of financial transactions, compliance with applicable regulations, and smooth execution of monthly accounting processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and assist with financial analysis to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Prepare journal entries and assist in completing month-end close tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare monthly deliverables, such as roll forward schedules, financial reporting support schedules, and legal / regulatory reporting
- Assist in providing supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Generate and review financial reports, spreadsheets, and analyses for management, providing valuable insights into the organization's financial status.
- Work closely with internal teams to maintain accurate financial documentation and ensure compliance with accounting regulations.
- Assist in the preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements
- Assist in the documentation of accounting related standard operating procedures
- May be assigned other duties as needed.

This position has no staff supervisory responsibilities.
