JOB TITLE: Job Coach
DEPARTMENT: Support Staff
SUPERVISOR: IES Manager
General Job Description:
To guide individuals in their job and vocational settings, Document progress and attendance, provide coaching and mentoring.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Familiarize yourself with individuals’ goals, job placements and job site expectations
- Guide individuals in learning to complete job tasks assigned by job site
- Monitor each individual’s job progress and break down / modify tasks as needed or requested
- Create lists, charts and / or reminder notes as needed to facilitate learning for each individual
- Assess the strengths of individuals and teach them to use them effectively on the job site
- Assist individuals to discover and overcome their personal barriers and set goals for growth
- Provide coaching in prioritizing job tasks and completing them in a logical sequence
- Encourage individuals to complete tasks in an increasingly timely manner once the basic job skills have been learned
- Monitor and evaluate progress of clients by keeping detailed progress notes
- Keep records and documentation for all goals and objective
- Assist individuals with disabilities in developing social and life skills
- Track all workers’ measurable goals and insure that all daily and weekly documentation is complete
- Ensure that all safety areas are maintained on a monthly basis. Monthly checklist and fire drills are completed.
- Maintain appropriate communications with parents/guardians, residential staff, DDS Case Managers, OWC Directors/other staff, and business contacts.
- Daily attendance for all workers in your program
- Ensure Vocational Assessments are up to date on each individual in the program
- Assist in providing a positive program environment to staff & participant
- Be a team player
- Learn & follow all policy & procedures of the agency
- Learn and follow all safety & emergency procedures for the agency
- Be involved in OWC fundraising events
- Perform other duties as assigned, or as they arise.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:
- Proven experience as job coach
- Experience in working with people with disabilities is a plus
- Experience in developing employment plans
- Ability to adhere to regulations and standards
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving ability
- Respect to diversity
- Ability to inspire and motivate
- 3 years’ experience in a Human Service setting
- Must be reliable, dependable, flexible with your hours
- Must possess proven experience and success
- CPR/First Aid, PMT, Med Cert a plus
- Must possess valid driver’s license and have 5 years’ experience clean driving
- Be willing to use your own vehicle if needed
- Must be able to work as part of a team as well as be independent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to carry a minimum of 20 pounds
