What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Administrator - Lancaster, PA position at OPSEC Security?
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installs, configures, and maintains servers, ensuring operation at optimal performance levels, including regularly applying software updates, security patches, and managing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Manages and maintains the network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls. Ensures all network devices are configured and optimized for performance and security.
- Monitors the performance of all systems, including servers, workstations, and network devices. Identifies and troubleshoots issues that may arise and takes appropriate action to resolve.
- Manages user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure that all users have the necessary resources to perform their jobs, including setting up new user accounts, modifying existing accounts, and disabling accounts as needed.
- Participates in the planning and implementation of new technology, systems and upgrades, including researching new technologies and making recommendations to management on the best solutions to meet business needs.
- Performs routine maintenance and upgrades as required to ensure the stability and security of all systems.
- Stays current with emerging technologies and industry trends and share that knowledge with the IT team and other departments within the organization.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5 years of Systems Administrator experience. • Proficiency in managing virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V). • Experience with network design, administration, and security.

- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing
