Job Title : Quality Assurance Manager
M-F, 8 : 00AM-4 : 30pm with flexible hours as needed
Salary : $80,000 annually
SUMMARY
Provide leadership and guidance to inspectors including inspection techniques and methods. Provides the knowledge and ability to perform various quality assurance tasks including inspections (dimensional and visual) for all production parts and components per requirements. Assist with work instruction revisions and retention. Experienced in performing various audits (i.e. dock, internal, layered). Maintains ISO / IATF 16949 compliant calibration system. Has the experience required to measure, certify, calibrate, and repair gages and measuring tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows and enforces all company safety policies.
Supports corporate and quality department goals and objectives.
Provides daily guidance to the Quality Inspectors on tasks to meet customer requirements.
Communicates any issues and changes to the Quality Inspectors.
Completes and documents product in-process inspections as needed.
Completes and documents dock audits and layered audits.
Completes internal audits as a certified ISO / IATF Internal Auditor.
Oversees Quality Hold area including organizing material disposition internally and externally.
Initiates work instruction revisions, quality alerts and all applicable documentation per the QMS.
Direct liaison for quality assurance on the production floor with operators, inspectors, supervisors and management.
Operates electronic and mechanical measuring tools and instruments including the CMM as needed.
Dimensionally inspects product to specified tolerances using fixed or variable measuring instruments for daily production and special projects.
Communicates ideas on inspection techniques, tool adjustments and product specific requirements to improve the organization and aid in problem solving activities.
Assists with any quality department task as needed (i.e. sort, rework, inspection, packaging).
RESPONSIBILIITES
Authority to reject parts if product does not meet specification and or customer requirements.
Responsible for comparing product samples and masters to ensure conformity to customer specifications.
Responsible for performing internal gage calibrations and maintaining the calibration system.
Ability to enforce and promote safety policies of the plant.
JOB REQUIREMENTS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. Quality related certifications are desired, but not mandatory.
Three years quality inspection experience.
Extensive experience and knowledge of mechanical blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, micrometers, height gauges, calipers, dial indicators and electronic data input devices.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization and suppliers.
Thorough knowledge of ISO / IATF 16949 requirements.
Good computer skills.
Strong math skills.
High level of analytical and problems solving skills.
Time management and prioritization skills.
Willingness to learn and apply new skills necessary to meet internal and external requirements and changing technology.
Ability to move up to 35 pounds.
