What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rigger - Industrial Construction position at OpSource Staffing?
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Industrial Mechanic to join our team!
You must be able to interpret blueprints and collaborate with other professionals on the job to ensure a mutual understanding of project scope and responsibilities. Our ideal candidate can measure, cut, and grind metal to specifications, checking that it matches the design plans. Once the components are ready, you utilize them in building, reinforcing, or repairing structures / equipment.
Pay Rate :
24hr to $26hr (Based on Experience)
1,000 Sign On Bonus
Working Hours :
Monday through Thursday
7 : 00am till 5 : 30pm
4-10s typically
Overtime as needed
Responsibilities :
Interpret specifications, blueprints, and technical documents to determine rigging equipment and required procedures.
Plan and select appropriate rigging methods and equipment, including slings, chains, hoists, and cranes, based on load specifications and environmental considerations.
Assemble and disassemble rigging equipment when required, including the use of hoists, pulleys, and winches.
Operate rigging equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring the proper lifting, lowering, and positioning of materials and structures.
Inspect and maintain rigging equipment regularly to ensure it is in safe working condition.
Collaborate with other team members, including crane operators and construction workers, to coordinate loading and unloading activities.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, conducting risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Maintain accurate records of rigging operations, inspections, and equipment maintenance.
Provide training and guidance to less experienced riggers and other staff members as needed.
Other job duties as required.
Qualifications :
Minimum 3 years relevant work experience.
Certification in rigging or related fields (e.g., NCCCO, NCCER) is preferred.
Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (e.g., face-shield, gloves, etc.).
Strong knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate via email, document daily work and progress, and track procurements and status.
Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety.
Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
Working Conditions :
Physically demanding (e.g., handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, etc.).
This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, and in adverse weather conditions.
