Minimum Qualifications :
- M.A. in public relations, mass communication or relevant discipline
- Professional experience in public relations or strategic communication
- Demonstrated potential or excellence in teaching at the college level
- Record of or demonstrated potential for successful scholarly research and publication
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including Black / African American, Latine / x, Native American / Indigenous, low-income, first-generation, and minoritized students

About the Department
The Department of Journalism & Public Relations has close to 600 students studying in one of our four academic programs : Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, Minor in Journalism and Minor in Public Relations. We take great pride in having one of the most diverse student bodies in higher education as well as accreditation from the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications for both of our majors. Our 35 full- and part-time faculty members are passionate about teaching, and our up-to-date curriculum prepares students for a variety of careers in communications.
