We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of optical practices and possess excellent customer service skills. As an Optician, you will play a vital role in helping patients select the right eyewear and ensuring their overall satisfaction with our services. Your expertise in medical records, coding, and billing will be essential in maintaining accurate patient information and facilitating smooth operations within our clinic.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and personal style preferences.
• Conduct fittings for glasses and contact lenses, ensuring proper alignment and comfort.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Process orders for eyewear, including lenses and frames, while managing inventory effectively.
• Provide education to patients regarding proper eyewear care and usage.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the clinic to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Handle sales transactions, utilizing retail math skills to manage pricing and discounts accurately.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in optical products and technology to provide informed recommendations.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Optician or in a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical records management, medical coding, and billing practices is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with optical terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential.
• Strong sales skills with the ability to engage customers effectively.
• Understanding of senior care considerations when assisting older patients with their eyewear needs.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-centric approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:300-5:30

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $18.50 per hour
