Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and personal style preferences.
- Conduct fittings for glasses and contact lenses, ensuring proper alignment and comfort.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Process orders for eyewear, including lenses and frames, while managing inventory effectively.
- Provide education to patients regarding proper eyewear care and usage.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the clinic to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Handle sales transactions, utilizing retail math skills to manage pricing and discounts accurately.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in optical products and technology to provide informed recommendations.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Optician or in a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical records management, medical coding, and billing practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with optical terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential.
- Strong sales skills with the ability to engage customers effectively.
- Understanding of senior care considerations when assisting older patients with their eyewear needs.
