Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic systems and related equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of fiber splicing, cabling, and computer networking, along with the ability to work effectively in the field.
Duties
- Perform fiber splicing and termination on various types of fiber optic cables.
- Install and maintain Cisco routers and other networking equipment.
- Execute cabling tasks, ensuring proper installation and adherence to industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to computer networking and fiber optic systems.
- Utilize hand tools and testing equipment such as voltmeters to ensure optimal performance of installations.
- Provide field service support, addressing customer needs promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used during installations or repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance service delivery and improve operational efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in fiber splicing, cabling, or as a service technician is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts and protocols, including Ethernet.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and testing equipment relevant to the role.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus, enabling effective troubleshooting of equipment issues.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
