What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitor position at Optikos Corporation?
The Janitor supports the Facilities department in maintaining the cleanliness of our 50,000 square foot facilities in Wakefield, MA. This position a full-time onsite role reporting directly to the Facilities Manager.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow a daily cleaning schedule including but not limited to:
o Emptying of trash, recycling, and sanitary napkin boxes
o Vacuuming and mopping common areas, breakrooms, and bathrooms
o Cleaning glass on windows, mirrors, and doors
o Disinfecting commonly used surfaces in bathrooms, breakrooms, and common areas such as tables, door handles, and light switches
o Cleaning toilets and urinals in each restroom
o Restocking dispensers in bathrooms and breakrooms
- Perform the following tasks on a weekly basis:
o Cleaning behind toasters and microwaves in breakrooms
o Dusting all surfaces such as vents, windowsills, and door frames
- Occasionally perform buffing, stripping and waxing floors.
- Help set up and breakdown company events and/or meetings.
- Complete Annual Training Modules and Performance Reviews in Paylocity.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Degree or Equivalent with 1 year(s) of experience as a Janitor.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Familiarity with hand tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of associates.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to read, understand and follow Optikos’ safety protocols and procedures.
- Positive attitude and organizational skills mindset
- Non- Essential Duties: Performs other duties that may be assigned.
- The ability to work as a team member or independently and to be self- motivated.
- The ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
- Knowledge of cleaning protocols and chemicals
