What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist position at Optilux Wellness?
Optilux Wellness Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team on Wednesdays from 8 AM to 11 AM. In this role, you will be responsible for performing blood draws and ensuring a comfortable experience for our patients. Your expertise will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare providers and delivering quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws in a safe and efficient manner.
- Prepare and label blood specimens for laboratory testing.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Assist patients in understanding the blood draw process, addressing any concerns.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely specimen collection.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient interactions.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Phlebotomist (e.g., CPT, PBT) is preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical or laboratory setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle patients with care and compassion.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safety and infection control procedures.
