Optim Health System is seeking a full time Chief Operating Officer for our Savannah, GA location.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES : Provides leadership, direction and administration of all aspects of the company’s activities to ensure accomplishment of its objectives.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED : Reports directly to the System Chief Executive Officer.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED : Supervises business unit leaders and other members of the senior leadership team.
DUTIES :
- Participates with governing board and CEO in charting and implementing the company mission in response to the changing needs of the community.
- Recommends, develops, and updates strategic long-range plans to support the company philosophy and goals.
- Coordinates meetings and presentations with all locations as needed to inform CEO about current trends, problems, activities, and opportunities in the medical field to facilitate policy making.
- Recommends policy positions regarding administrative and legislative matters.
- Coordinates with the CEO, medical staff and other personnel the monitoring of medical activities to ensure the fulfillment of the community’s needs for quality health care.
- Coordinates with all locations operating the company umbrella into a cohesive working relationship.
- Consults with relevant staff and departments prior to recommending and establishing new policies to ensure the availability of support and resources.
- Coordinates efforts of medical staff, CEO and administrative staff in the recruitment, development, evaluation, and retention of personnel.
- Coordinates with the finance on the long-range financial development and management of the organization.
- Ensures the provision of affordable healthcare services by the acquisition, utilization and organization of resources, (human, financial and physical). Develops improved management and practices.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Continually monitors operations, programs, and physical properties at all locations. Initiates appropriate changes.
- Encourages the integration of locations with the community through effective communication and public relations programs.
- Represents the clinics in their relationships with other healthcare organizations, government agencies, and third party payers.
- Directs and supervises all locations activities through coordinators and administrative support staff. Consults with and advises department heads on a regular basis
