Optim Surgery Center is seeking a temporary Environmental Services Tech for our Savannah location.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES : Performs routine cleaning throughout units of Surgical Center
SUPERVISION RECEIVED : Operating Room Manager
SUPERVISION EXERCISED : None
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Frequent standing and walking or other means pf mobility for extended periods of time. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds Requires exposure to germicidal agents and anesthesia gases.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS : May be exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES :
1. Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms and corridors.
2. Prioritize work received and complete in a timely manner.
3. Performs other work duties and assignments as required.
4. Assume responsibility for own actions and behaviors.
OTHER JOB DUTIES :
1. Maintains the rights, dignity, and confidentiality of the patient.
2. Participates in the OSC emergency, fire, and disaster drills.
3. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
4. Follows all OSC Policies and Procedures.
5. Attends required in-services and educational programs.
6. Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS :
1. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
2. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations.
3. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
4. Ability to maintain quality control standards.
5. Ability to communicate clearly.
EDUCATION : High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to perform tasks (e.g. speaking, writing, and spelling) at a level normally performed by someone with a high school education as demonstrated by past performance
EXPERIENCE
One-year experience in a hospital or medical office preferred.
