Software Testing Senior Data Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY :
We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to support the testing & evaluation (T&E) platform. You will work with the Test Services Director in the advancement of the Development Testing & Evaluation Platform's strategic needs with a focus on data & information accessibility. You will work tightly with approximately one other Data Analyst.
You will be responsible for data pulls, cleaning, manipulation, and integration. You will develop and maintain workflows and dashboards that improve our visibility of the testing platform's output and adherence to standards. You will automate as much of the data pulling, cleaning, manipulating, integration, and reporting as possible. You will engage with leaders across the broader organization to ensure they're getting the right data of the right quality at the right time, as well as with software testing employees to ensure understanding of the data and support compliance with data recording and reporting policies and best practices.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Data pulls, cleaning, manipulation, and integration
Identify and download correctly filtered and organized sets of data from a variety of sources in Jira (with plug-ins like Zephyr Scale and Xray), Jazz, Metronome, and other Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Testing software packagesClean, adjust, and integrate data from multiple sources to ensure the data accurately reflects reality and can provide wholistic pictures using Excel, SQL, Python, and / or AlteryxDevelop new data visualizations, maintain & improve existing data visualizations
Help assess critical information and questions to answer with data, provide input to the appropriate metrics to use, and design appropriate dashboards to share necessary dataDevelop the dashboards according to the design within Jira, PowerBI, Excel, and / or PowerPoint as appropriateMaintain, adapt, and / or improve dashboards as requirements change or become better understoodAutomation and process improvement
Develop workflows to streamline and automate data pulling, cleaning, manipulation, and integration tasksAutomate updating of dashboardsRecommend workflow changes up & downstream for data capture, pulling, cleaning, manipulation, and reporting tasks that can simplify or reduce the work required to provide accurate dataProvide input / author Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to codify best-practices for data capture, pulling, cleaning, manipulation, and reportingEngage senior leaders
Join discussions / workshops to assess, refine, and capture leadership information requirementsIterate as appropriate with leaders on dashboards and other reports to ensure their needs are metct as a subject matter expert on software test data and reporting to help leaders assess their needsEngage software testing staff
Work with software testers to understand their actual workflows, activities, and pain points to inform best-practice SOP's and proceduresTrain / ensure workforce understands correct procedures so that data can be reported accurately according to the types of information leaders need to make decisionsPerform special projects and / or other duties as assigned or required.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS :
