Job Description:
Do you have a passion for helping others? Are you tired of performing the same duties day after day? Optimae LifeServices is hiring full-time or part-time Direct Support Professionals for our Des Moines Community program.
Applicants should be caring, creative, and passionate about working with people experiencing Mental Illness, Intellectual, and/or Developmental Disabilities. Schedule:
We have day shifts available at this time with flexible hours. We value a work-life balance; each month Optimae collaborates with staff to create their weekly schedule. Staff are able to communicate scheduling needs and can identify days off.
What You’ll Do
- Provide direct care and assist assigned individuals with accessing the community and increasing independence with communication, socialization and daily living skills
- Implement individual’s care plans and provide ongoing feedback regarding additional or changing care plan needs to Service Coordinator
- Assure timely and accurate documentation
What You’ll Need
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must pass criminal background checks
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to provide transportation in personal and/or company vehicles
- Basic computer skills to complete required documentation and online trainings
- Good oral and written communication skills and have the ability to accurately document all observations, significant events, and services provided.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
