Optimae LifeServices is currently hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician for Ottumwa. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all areas of the building, including its systems and equipment, are well-maintained and in excellent operating order. This is achieved by planning preventative maintenance and reacting to emerging maintenance concerns. The Maintenance Technician ensures the timeliness and quality of any and all maintenance requests by troubleshooting, repairing, or replacing as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Complete general landscaping to ensure grounds are neatly maintained.
- Perform emergent janitorial duties as needed.
- Routinely inspect of all building and grounds systems including: electrical, heating and cooling, plumbing and structural, as well as monitoring vehicle upkeep.
- Plan renovations, repairs, and preventive maintenance of above-mentioned systems.
- Organize and schedule maintenance contractors as needed.
- Maintain fire alarm system.
- Maintain or purchase elevator services as needed.
- Maintain any emergency generator systems.
- Comply with OSHA requirements for all affected areas and staff.
- Attend in-service and training as required.
- Complete requisitions for supplies and repairs in conjunction with Regional Director.
Qualifications
- Age 18 minimum
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Extensive knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, auto repair, general mechanical and building maintenance including electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning required
- Must be a licensed Iowa driver with current vehicle insurance
- May be required to acquire and maintain Iowa Chauffeur’s license
- Must have knowledge of state and local fire, electrical, and plumbing codes
- Must have basic knowledge of building and grounds maintenance, methods, and procedures
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to communicate effectively
