Position Description :
Develop and implement improvements to control systems and equipment using Factory Information Systems (FIS) data. Lead problem solving in resolving equipment performance issues. Lead trouble shooting; coordinate resources to find root cause and fixes, manage and breakdown problems into items that can be validated. Assist in the training of manufacturing personnel and plant electricians. Assist in integration of controls into IT systems like Factory Information Systems (FIS), Error Proofing, QWX, and QTS. Troubleshoot machinery, robot, automation, and controls issues and downtime Use FIS plant monitoring software to review the cycle times of equipment. Review and coordinate project installations. Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements Maintain program backups for machinery and automation Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots Review risk assessments as part of a team evaluating equipment safety. Skills Required :
Electrical Engineering Degree or applicable experience Machining background a plus Ability to work with UAW maintenance, Vendors and other Process Team Members when required. Communication skills; verbal, email, etc. Microsoft Suite familiarity (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Familiar with UL508A requirements and NFPA79 Familiar with Pro-tag and Midas check sheets Siemens Step 7 programming and troubleshooting Siemens power line and solution line configuration and programming Fanuc controls troubleshooting Beckhoff controls troubleshooting is preferred. Familiar with CPN / MPN design and configuration is preferred. Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Lubrication, and Coolant design & functionality is preferred. Laser operation and Laser safety is preferred. Programmable safety design and operation is preferred. CNC design and operation is preferred. Risk Assessment process is preferred. Company RFID tag map and controls (Beckhoff and Siemens) is preferred. All controls systems lifecycle (obsolescence) is preferred. ECPL and Access task process and design is preferred. Allen Bradley RS Logix, Control Logix, and Micro Logix is preferred. Experience Required :
3 years or more of Controls Engineering experience in manufacturing environment 3 years or more experience with PLC logic, controls, Siemens and Modicon programming. Education Required :
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Electrical Technician is preferred.
