What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Optimal Health Medicine?
Job responsibilities include: Rooming patients, including taking vitals, chief complaint, and reviewing history. Performing tests such as EKG, PFT, fingersticks, and urinalysis. Processing outpatient test orders, medication refills, and prior authorizations. Answering phones. On-the-job training is offered, but candidates without basic computer skills and a capacity to learn rapidly need not apply.
Absolute requirements: Typing speed of 40 wpm or greater. (This will be tested.) Comfort with Windows computers.
Strongly recommended skills: Training/Certification as a medical assistant or previous experience in a medical office.
Strong candidates will be friendly, punctual, easy going, adaptable, intelligent, and honest.
