Senior Driveability / Emissions Calibration Engineer
- The Driveability and Emissions (D&E) Calibration Engineer is responsible for:
Developing and implementing best practice calibration solutions and performing diagnostic verification testing. - Calibrating and validating the in-field and in-plant diagnostic
- Calibrating and validating software relative to engine torque delivery and emissions and regulatory compliance calibrations.
- The Engineer will collect passing and failing data populating to understand the variability of each diagnostic strategy to minimize false pass / false fail and ensure robustness.
- They will validate calibration according to the DVP&R, release calibrations, support issue resolution of corporate fleet and in-field concerns, as well as provide input to hardware designs as necessary
Provide regular overview summaries and detailed reports on specific assignments, including timing projections.
The candidate should expect to travel 4 - 8 weeks throughout the year for system validation/verification.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent from an ABET accredited university
- Minimum 5 Years or more experience in Powertrain systems calibration development,
- Driveability and Emissions calibration
- Knowledge of internal combustion engines
- Understanding of CARB diagnostic regulations
- Working knowledge of calibration tools (INCA /ATI), emissions regulations, and powertrain technologies.
- Fundamental knowledge in MatLab / Simulink
- Industry standard calibration tools (ETAS INCA, MatLab, CANalyzer)
- Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
- Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
