What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician position at Optimal Inc.?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technician's responsibilities include removal and installation of vehicle components including high voltage components and harnessing. Taking part in keeping a clean work environment. Occasional travel if necessary.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
R&D Technician:
- Teardown and Rebuild vehicles.
- Work with High-Voltage vehicles / components.
- Assemble mechanical components according to specifications / build prints.
- Examine assembled parts and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.
- Repair, replace or rebuild mechanical systems on vehicles.
- Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
- Assist in other mechanical work as needed.
- Ability to be self-sufficient.
- Drive vehicles on designated routes.
- Deliver components to offsite locations.
- Hold a valid Chauffeur driver's license. If not already held, we are willing to cover the cost of obtaining it.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Effective oral and written communication skills both up and down throughout the company.
- Proficient in problem analysis and resolution.
- Strong cross functional team player
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Computer literacy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High school diploma/GED required (associate degree preferred)
- 2 years' experience performing automotive services.
- Clean driving record
- Reliable Transportation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Basic metal working (Grinding, cutting, ETC.)
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds
