Position Summary:
We are seeking an APRN (full-time, part-time, or contracted) who can provide therapeutic care in the field of mental health and fulfill the general duties and responsibilities of a licensed nurse practitioner in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Essential Functions:
- Completes recovery life history assessments, provides interventions, and makes referrals, as appropriate, in collaboration with staff.
- Provides education on medication management to clients, parent/guardians, and all necessary individuals.
- Maintains complete, confidential, and up-to-date client records (client files, incident reports, discharge summaries, etc.)
- Conducts monthly follow-up appointments with clients.
- Communicates effectively, in a timely way, regarding the patient's needs, progress, and problems, including recommendations, with various agencies involved in the patient's life.
- Represents, in a professional manner, the patients and the agency in court, if necessary, with testimony, legal matters, depositions, and recommendations regarding the patient's treatment.
- Understands the need for crisis intervention in case of acute emotional of physical distress and is willing and able to provide such.
- Makes appropriate and effective referrals when necessary.
- Serves as member of the Management Team, which creates and maintains a consistent and nurturing environment for all clients. Assists in developing and adhering to all policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with other staff in program development and client consultation.
- Attends and participates in all training, continuing education, and meetings, as required.
Qualifications:
Ability to work with persons in a manner that shows sensitivity to cultural diversity, sexual orientation, and racial/ethnic differences. If in recovery, must have maintained a minimum continuous sobriety of two years and work an active recovery program. Must exhibit the following:
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check and have no history or evidence of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of three years immediately prior to the date of employment at the Program, and no misuse of alcohol or other drugs while employed at this Program.
- Must be able to operate independently and does not need a collaboration agreement to operate (preferred).
- Must hold and maintain a valid license to practice as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
- Must be of the conviction that substance use disorders and other co-occurring disorders are treatable illnesses and constitute a public health problem.
