We are a small busy optometry practice seeking a full time ophthalmic/optometric technician. Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to: patient work up and history taking, performing ophthalmic testing, handling prescription and refill requests, etc. The candidate must be a team player and detail oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment. The candidate must be compassionate, respectful and demonstrate extreme professionalism to patients, coworkers and supervisors.
This job is full time with benefits.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour based on experience
Responsibilities and Duties
- Enables clinic operations by effectively managing the patient flow in and out of exam rooms.
- Retrieves and collates patient information for provider.
- Cleans stocks and maintains exam rooms, procedure rooms, instruments and equipment and prepares patient for provider exam.
- Obtains ophthlamic testing (near and distant visual acuity, amsler grid, color vision, stereo vision)
- Cleans, disinfects and packs instruments
- Documents pertinent patient information in medical record (including, but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, brief history, patient instructions, communication of test results, etc).
- Ensures future appointments have been scheduled or communicated and referrals/pre-authorizations have been initiated and obtained.

- Ability to communicate with patients to ensure excellent customer service
- Knowledge of keyboarding, data entry, and basic computer skills
