We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented candidate with 3-5 years of relevant experience. This position requires a highly organized individual with strong leadership qualities and familiarity with import/export operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the shipping and receiving processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with domestic and international logistics and regulations. This position offers the potential for growth into a supervisory role for the right candidate.  

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Shipping and Receiving Operations
  1. Oversee the receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming goods 
  2. Coordinate the preparation, packaging, and shipment of outgoing goods per the production schedule 
  3. Ensure timely and accurate processing of shipping and receiving records in accordance with company procedures and policies 
• Import/Export Compliance 
  1. Handle documentation for international shipments, ensuring compliance with import/export regulations 
  2. Work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers to resolve shipping issues/delays 
  3. Stay updated on international trade regulations and adapt processes as needed 
• Inventory Management 
  1. Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy 
  2. Assist in maintaining proper stock levels and report discrepancies 
• Process Improvement 
  1. Identify opportunities to streamline shipping and receiving processes 
  2. Implement best practices to improve efficiency and reduce costs 
• Leadership 
  1. Provide guidance and training to team members 
  2. Act as point of contact for the department in the absence of the supervisor 
  3. Demonstrate leadership by fostering a positive and collaborative work environment 

Requirements: 

• Experience 
  1. 3-5 years in shipping, receiving, or logistics 
  2. 1 year with import/export operations 
• Skills 
  1. Strong organizational and time-management skills 
  2. Proven leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and motivate others 
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  4. Proficiency with shipping software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite 
  5. Forklift experience preferred but not required
• Physical 
  1. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment 
• Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays when necessary

Education: High school diploma or GED is required.  Associates degree or equivalent experience and fluency with math is preferred. 

Compensation and Benefits: Optimax Systems offers highly competitive salary of $35,343.00 - $47,817.00/year based on experience, a comprehensive benefits package and a unique work environment.
