We are currently recruiting a Level II or III Industrial Maintenance Mechanic with 5-7 years minimum hands-on experience with mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, plumbing, lockout/tagout/tryout, and automated equipment operations.
Preference will be given to candidates that also have experience working with and/or troubleshooting PLC/electrical/electronics/robotics systems but is not a major requirement of the position. Knowledge of arc flash safety would also be preferable.
The successful candidate must a self-starter/self-directed individual and be able to quickly come up-to-speed with strong communication skills as they will be the sole Maintenance Mechanic during their Tues-Fri shifts with management/supervision available onsite and their Saturday shift without onsite supervision.
Will receive training to be able to perform routine equipment repairs and preventative maintenance. Responsibilities include assembly and disassembly of mechanical machines and facilities equipment, technical troubleshooting of equipment failures to find and solve root causes of machine malfunctions or poor process results, performing preventative maintenance, configuring/repairing plumbing, brazing, assisting Controls and Automation Technicians with basic electrical, PLC/controls and automation troubleshooting and repairs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to communicate in English, in both written and oral form at a high level.
- Ability to observe and interpret situations, analyze and root cause solve problems.
- Ability to understand, read and apply both written and oral technical instructions. Capable of working and staying on task with no supervision.
- Ability to use shop mathematics - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, along with the ability to understand both SAE and Metric measurements.
- Ability to prioritize changing tasks and duties. Establish & maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.
- High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required.
- Level II: Minimum of four years work experience in a manufacturing environment as a maintenance mechanic. Two years of previous technical training or coursework in industrial maintenance or industrial electronics/controls/automation through technical schools (certificate or diploma) will be credited as two years work experience.
- Level III: 7 years advancing position levels of applied technical experience as a mechanic or electrics/controls/electronics/automation technician working and training in a manufacturing environment. Two years of previous technical training or course work in industrial maintenance or industrial electronics/controls/automation through technical schools (certificate or diploma) will be credited as two years work experience.
WORK CRITERIA/CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock/arc flash, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.
Ability to regularly stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a manufacturing plant environment, including hearing protection, safety glasses, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
Wage: DOE/E, between $28.00 to $35.00/hr
Training Schedule: Mon-Fri, swing shift, 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm (approx 3 months)
Permanent Schedule: Day Shift, Tuesday through Saturday, 5:00 am to 1:30 pm OR Swing Shift, 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm
