Job Title: System Engineer
Duration: Contract to Hire
Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid Tuesday - Thursday On-site)
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Engineer to join our infrastructure and cloud operations team. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and AWS cloud services. You'll play a critical role in designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable systems both on-premises and in the cloud.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Windows Server OS (2016–2025), with emphasis on Active Directory, ADFS, File Services, monitoring, and patching.

Administer Microsoft Entra and Microsoft AD/Domain infrastructure.

Configure and maintain Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS) web environments.

Deploy and manage AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, Route 53, Lambda, etc.) to support secure and scalable systems.

Develop and implement automation processes for Microsoft and AWS environments.

Ensure infrastructure components meet performance, reliability, and security standards.

Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance tools, systems, procedures, and security practices.

Create and maintain technical documentation for system design, deployment, and troubleshooting.

Contribute to policy development and compliance procedures for cloud services.

Monitor system operations and infrastructure, providing metrics and reporting as needed.

Manage and support SSL certificates and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions.

Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (3-person team).
Qualifications:

7 years of relevant experience in system engineering or cloud infrastructure roles.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft technologies, including AD, ADFS, and File Services.

Solid experience with AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, Route 53, etc.

Hands-on experience in both on-premises and cloud-based systems administration.

Proficient with Windows Server (2016–2025) and Linux/Unix systems (CentOS, RedHat).

Skilled in scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation and system management.

Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI model).

AWS certifications (SysOps Administrator, DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect) preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
