Position Summary : An Industrial Journeyman Painter / Blaster will paint equipment, structures, and concrete for protection and cosmetic purposes. The position will also be required to maintain, mix, and have a thorough knowledge of paint and other coating materials to ensure the equipment or structure is painted and protected as per contract or specifications. Must have experience spray painting and operating sandblasting equipment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
- Apply coatings through conventional, airless, and plural spray systems.
- Apply paint with a brush and roll.
- Operate various types of equipment such as blast pots and spray guns.
- Knowledge of various painting methods and applications.
- Spray with consistent millage.
- Knowledge of various blasts.
- Prepare surfaces.
- Mix paints and fireproofing materials to desired consistencies.
- Understanding or reading of drawings and / or blueprints
- Safe operation of construction tools and equipment
- Grinding, sanding, and polishing
- Painting, caulking, and sealing
