What are the responsibilities and job description for the Document Controller position at Optimized Process Designs?
Your Job The Document Controller will work within established documentation procedures within an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) environment. This position is responsible for managing project-related databases. The Document Controller will handle the receipt, processing, monitoring, distribution, and expediting internal and external engineering and supplier documentation across various media formats. Our Team The Document Control team at OPD is collaborative with engineering and construction while paying particular attention to client requirements and submitting final deliverables on time. Our team is focused on transformation and ways that we can improve or streamline our processes while still providing the end product requested by our clients. What You Will Do
- Coordinate and maintain project-specific documentation systems by established procedures.
- Organize, manage, and retrieve project documentation : updated drawings, data sheets, drawings lists, etc.
- Understand technical documentation to ensure that it meets client expectations.
- Be able to support drawing correspondence between engineering disciplines, supervisors and material suppliers.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, project vendors and client.
- Understand and operate within best practices for an effective document control system (naming standards, folders, etc.)
- Work on multiple projects and manage competing priorities
- Collaborate at all levels of the organization. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience performing equipment reviews and ensuring accurate project information
- Experience using document control system such as Documentum, Aconex, Procore, or ProjecTools .
- High attention to detail (spelling, drawing standards)
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and seek knowledge.

- Past experience using BlueBeam in an engineering environment
- Experience preparing mechanical completion packages or final Databooks at the completion of the project per client requirements.
- Experience assisting project managers in maintaining / filing / storing documents such as meeting minutes, drawings, specifications, approvals, and related items
