The Housing Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations and management of housing facilities. Duties
- Manage daily operations of housing facilities, ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations.
- Oversee tenant relations, addressing concerns and fostering a positive community environment.
- Implement and monitor housing programs such as LIHTC and Section 8.
- Conduct regular inspections of properties to ensure maintenance standards are met.
- Utilize Yardi software for managing tenant information, rent collections, and maintenance requests.
- Provide crisis intervention support to residents facing challenges or emergencies.
- Collaborate with social workers and community resources to assist residents in need.
- Negotiate lease agreements and resolve disputes effectively.
- Maintain accurate records related to tenant occupancy, financial transactions, and regulatory compliance.
Skills
- Proficiency in Realpage or similar property management software.
- Strong understanding of Fair Housing regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with LIHTC and Section 8 housing programs is highly desirable.
- Ability to apply motivational interviewing techniques to engage residents effectively.
- Excellent crisis management skills with the ability to intervene in challenging situations.
- Strong negotiation skills to resolve conflicts amicably.
- Knowledge of relevant laws pertaining to housing management.
- Background in social work or related fields is a plus.
