Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care Support: Welcome and prepare patients for visits by taking vital signs, updating medical histories, and assisting providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Clinical Tasks: Perform routine clinical duties such as dressing changes, instrument sterilization, wound care assistance, and diabetic shoe fittings.
- Administrative Functions: Schedule appointments, manage patient records in the EMR system, and handle referrals, authorizations, and insurance verifications.
- Team Collaboration: Ensure seamless clinic operations by maintaining exam room cleanliness, preparing supplies for procedures, and assisting with inventory management.
- Patient Education: Provide instructions for treatment plans, post-procedure care, and proper foot health maintenance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (required)
- Typing and computer skills (required)
- Certification as a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant is a plus.
- Experience: Prior experience in healthcare or clinical settings like podiatry, orthopedics, or primary care preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in EMR systems, exceptional organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to patient care.
- Communication: Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills to foster a welcoming clinic environment.
