About the Role
Optimum Frost Studio is a startup technology company developing modern SaaS platforms and real-time collaboration tools. We’re currently expanding the team behind Meeka, a smart scheduling and productivity assistant, and are looking for an experienced Part-Time Full Stack PHP Developer to help improve, maintain, and expand the platform.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment, is comfortable working independently, and has a strong eye for product quality. You’ll be responsible for delivering new features, addressing bugs and system level issues, and continuously improving code structure to support long-term scalability and modularity. As a part-time role, you’ll have the flexibility to work your hours and contribute to a product that makes a real impact.
What You’ll Be DoingBackend Development (Laravel / PHP)
- Develop and maintain scalable backend systems using Laravel
- Build and manage RESTful APIs for web and mobile clients
- Implement background jobs and task automation using Laravel Scheduler, Queue Workers, and Redis
- Work with PostgreSQL (including JSON columns) for flexible, efficient data structures
- Integrate and maintain services like Stripe and Firebase
- Contribute to and maintain logic-based AI workflows for scheduling and intelligent task handling
- Participate in regular debugging, troubleshooting, and resolution of reported issues
- Refactor existing code to improve modularity and future maintainability
- Ensure system monitoring and observability using tools like Prometheus
Frontend Development (Vue.js / React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- Build and maintain responsive UI components using Vue.js, React, or Alpine.js
- Improve UX through dynamic task boards, calendar views, and real-time updates
- Integrate frontend with backend APIs and manage state with Vuex, Pinia, or Redux
- Use Vite, Webpack, or Laravel Mix for efficient asset compilation
Compensation
This is a part-time, contract-based role with a flexible schedule.
We are offering an hourly rate of $13 – $17 USD/hour, depending on experience and skills.
Expected hours: 15–25 hours per week, with the potential to increase as the company grows.
As the product and team scale, this role may evolve into a full-time opportunity with adjusted compensation and long-term benefits.

Requirements
- 2 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer
- Strong experience with Laravel and modern PHP practices
- Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, React.js, or Alpine.js)
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, including indexing and query optimization
- Familiarity with RESTful API design, Redis-based job queues, and real-time architectures
- Understanding of logic-driven systems or workflow automation
- Comfortable with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation using Jenkins
- Willingness to proactively fix bugs, improve codebase stability, and refactor for modularity
- Strong communication and independent problem-solving skills
Bonus Experience
- Knowledge of GraphQL
- Experience with real-time messaging (WebSockets, Pusher, Socket.io)
- Exposure to AI/NLP-based parsing or command interpretation systems
- Familiarity with container orchestration using Kubernetes
- Testing frameworks such as PHPUnit, Pest, Jest, or Cypress
