Site Safety Manager – Construction

Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Site Safety Manager to oversee safety operations at a construction site. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with safety standards, minimizing risks, and fostering a culture of safety on-site. This role requires a Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) credential and at least three years of experience in construction safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce safety programs and policies in compliance with OSHA, company standards, and client requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, or non-compliance and correct items found to be of concern.
- Participate in investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with project management and other contractors to maintain a safe working environment.
- Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to on-site personnel, including new hire orientations and task-specific training.
- Maintain all safety-related documentation, including training records, permits, and incident reports.
- Advise on site safety planning during all phases of the construction project.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging worker participation and feedback.
Qualifications
- CHST (Certified Health and Safety Technician) certification is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in large-scale or high-risk projects.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, regulations, and best practices in the construction industry.
- Proven ability to lead safety programs and influence positive safety behaviors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management software.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are preferred.
