ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide supervision to Group Home staff and programs; responsible for the overall direct service to residents; maintain all house records, supplies, equipment and inventories; and participate in community education.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
SUPERVISION OF THERAPEUTIC HOUSE PARENTS
1. Supervise the Supervision of Therapeutic House Parents around issues pertaining to daily living activities of all the residents.
2. Supervise the Supervision of Therapeutic House Parents in the integration of each resident’s counseling/therapy program into the total program.
3. Evaluate the job performance of Group Home personnel with the approval of the Program Director.
4. Provide individual supervision for each staff member.
5. Define and begin to remedy any inherent problems in the resident/ Supervision of Therapeutic House Parents relationship.
6. Plan and implement staff meetings for Supervision of Therapeutic House Parents
7. Coordinate with the Supervision of Therapeutic House Parents for suitable and appropriate times for outside therapy and consultation when warranted for the residents.
HOUSE MANAGEMENT
1. Maintain appropriate records regarding all purchases and maintain such purchases in accordance with allotted funds.
2. Plan for the purchase of required household and office supplies.
3. Ensure all maintenance tasks on facility and equipment are completed.
4. Maintain all required inventories and activities.
DIRECT SERVICES
1. Establish and follow through with a treatment plan for each resident.
2. Provide and ensure required casework services to each resident.
3. Work with outside agencies in the establishment of both short-term and long-term treatment plans for the residents.
4. Coordinate all transportation, medical, therapy, school, volunteer, and parental activities.
5. Relate to the residents in a supportive manner.
6. Facilitate Resident community meetings.
7. Provide supplemental services to the Group Home Worker as is required in the daily encounters with residents.
8. Provide 24-hour back-up services as required.
9. Provide supervision to interns.
PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION
1. Responsible for hiring and terminating Group Home personnel, with approval of the Program Director.
2. Plan and implement Group Home programs to include individual, family and group counseling.
3. Plan, implement and supervise Group Home routine.
4. Tabulate and submit petty cash expenditures for accounting purposes.
5. Submit monthly mileage sheets for Group Home personnel and agency vehicle, Sliding Scale, and Breakfast and Lunch Monthly Records.
6. Responsible for staff scheduling.
7. Complete and submit attendance records for all Group Home personnel.
8. Maintain records and the required data for each resident.
9. Carry out all duties as designated by the Program Director.
10. Participate in Treatment Team reporting on milieu and resident treatment needs, goals and progress.
11. Collaborate with treatment team to routinely change goals and strategies in meeting Resident care needs, plan care, make appropriate interventions and re-evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
12. Participate in weekly treatment team meetings.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND RELATIONS
1. Participate in community education.
2. Assist in representing agency at community meetings.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Group Home Coordinator shall be supervised by and accountable to the Program Director.
HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT
Hours and days shall be scheduled according to the needs of the program.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 25 years of age
- A baccalaureate degree in social work or psychology and two years of professional experience working with children one year of which must have been in a residential facility for children;
- A high school diploma or a General Education Development Certificate (G.E.D.) and a minimum of five years professional experience working with children with at least two years in a residential facility for children; or
- A combination of education and experience working with children as approved by the department.

REQUIREMENTs
- Must become certified in Medication Management
- Must become certified in Therapeutic Behavior Management
- Must complete a Medical and T.B. test providing proof of results
- Must be fingerprinted by the State of Virginia
- Must submit official educational transcripts from the last school in which a degree was awarded.
- Staff Supervisors are required to work no less than 2 weekend shifts each month; shift are not to be scheduled consecutively in the same day (i.e. a double on Saturday would count as 1 shift).
- Staff Supervisors are to work no less than 3 evening shifts during each week (Monday Friday).
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
