🚀 Senior Associate – Global Physical Oil Operations

Optimus is partnering with a leading player in the physical oil operations sector to find a dynamic Senior Associate/Trading Operations Associate to provide critical operational support for their Global Physical Oil business.

In this role, you’ll leverage your collaborative skills to engage with a variety of key stakeholders, including Trading, Scheduling, Legal, Compliance, Finance/Tax, Technology, and Risk Management teams. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring seamless operations, accurate trade execution, and streamlined communication across the organization’s global energy portfolio.

🌍 What You'll Do:

• Ensure the accurate representation of physical oil trades by verifying deal details and reconciling broker confirmations.
• Generate, track, and execute trade confirmations for global transactions involving midstream, downstream, shipping, storage, and more.
• Tackle counterparty contract negotiations and manage third-party agreements with finesse.
• Keep inventory records sharp and settlements accurate, reconciling data across multiple sources.

🛠 What We're Looking For:

• Experience: 2 years in the energy sector, focusing on physical crude oil or refined products.
• Logistics Knowledge: Understanding of truck and rail transportation markets for liquid commodities.
• Problem-Solver: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and creative thinking for finding sustainable solutions.
• Relationship Builder: Exceptional communication skills to manage stakeholders and negotiate under pressure.
• Tech Savvy (Bonus Points): Familiarity with Python, PowerBI, or other data/workflow tools.
