Responsibilities
- Client Engagement: Build trust and foster strong relationships with clients from varied backgrounds, including local politicians, senior energy leaders, and community workers.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement trading strategies aligned with client needs, focusing on hedging from prompt through 36 months, with occasional longer-dated positions.
- Communicate to Influence: Convincingly present strategies, educate clients, and gain buy-in for proposed solutions.
- Team Oversight: Provide guidance and supervision to Analysts, ensuring seamless execution of client-focused initiatives.
- Market Execution: Execute trades across energy and capacity markets, leveraging a deep understanding of client goals and market dynamics.
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance, economics, or a related field from a four-year college or university is required. An MBA is highly preferred.
- Minimum of three years in a trading environment.
- Familiarity with the Northeast natural gas market (including Transco and Iroquois) is essential. NYISO is strongly preferred
- Fuel oil management experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel and Access is highly desired. Other technologies a plus
- Knowledge/experience participating in auctions
- Ability to structure bilateral transactions and long-term deals.
- Exceptional Communication: Strong ability to engage, educate, and influence clients from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds.
- Strategic Thinking: Proficiency in analyzing market trends and aligning them with client objectives.
- Resilience and Patience: Demonstrated ability to build long-term trust and educate clients effectively.
