Accountant - Settlements
A key energy client in Florida is seeking a Settlement Analyst to support their Southeast Markets operations, focusing on power and gas. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, a strong customer service demeanor, and the drive to excel in a fast-paced environment. This role involves mastering settlement processes, leveraging technology, and fostering collaboration to deliver exceptional results.
NOTE: Our client is in Florida. Their strong preference is to have employees in the office weekly (hybrid schedule), but other locations could be a possibility. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
- Settlement Operations: Ensure precise and timely billing, invoicing, and reporting services.
- Process Management: Manage settlement accuracy, update procedures, and lead efficiency improvements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to address market needs and client goals.
- Learning & Development: Expand knowledge of RTO/ISO markets, natural gas, and power while mentoring peers.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- 2 years of industry or accounting experience, preferably doing bilateral settlements for a trading entity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong technical aptitude; experience with Allegro or similar ETRM is a bonus.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Strong desire to learn, be an excellent team player, and to improve processes whenever possible.
