A key Optimus client is seeking a Natural Gas Trader, leveraging Northeast Gas Markets expertise, particularly on Transco and Iroquois pipelines. This role combines trading expertise, strategic thinking, and relationship management to drive success in dynamic energy markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Resource Optimization: Manage customer day ahead physical natural gas loads, optimize costs, identify trading opportunities, and collaborate on strategies to hedge market risks.
• Relationship Building: Foster strong ties with customers, team members, and industry stakeholders, offering guidance and expert market insights.
• Profitability: Identify opportunities for margin generation, financial forward optimization, and ensure value-driven strategies.
• Compliance: Accurately record transactions, follow risk controls, resolve disputes, and measure transaction performance.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• Experience: At least three years in the natural gas industry, with expertise in the Northeast market and ideally fuel oil management.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel and Access.
