An industry-leading energy client is seeking a Real-Time Trader to provide 24/7 trading coverage, optimize client portfolios, and execute value-driven transactions. In this critical role, you’ll collaborate with clients and market participants to deliver energy solutions, develop trading strategies, and enhance operational efficiency while maintaining a deep understanding of resource availability and RTO markets.
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Previous energy industry experience and familiarity with trade capture systems (preferred).
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with a proactive mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rotating 12-hour shift environment, including readiness to respond during emergencies.
What You'll Do:
- Trading Operations: Provide 24/7/365 trading coverage, analyze energy and transmission options, and execute purchases and sales to optimize client portfolios.
- Market Engagement: Develop, negotiate, and execute business transactions with market participants to create value for clients and the company.
- Collaboration: Work with Term Trading and RTO teams to evaluate market conditions and develop trading strategies aligned with member resource portfolios.
- Resource Management: Monitor loads, resource availability, and forecasted needs to ensure delivery and profitability.
- Knowledge Maintenance: Stay current on tagging methodologies, transmission provider practices, and RTO markets to identify and communicate opportunities in bilateral markets.
