Responsibilities:
- Perform daily audits of lab orders and manage frequent complex interactions with many internal and external contacts as required for compliance, audits, and accuracy
- Under the direction of the Manager, perform account reviews and investigations, manual charge entry, facility reconciliations, daily charge capture audit exceptions, and meeting minutes
- Assist the Manager in updating information and education on an on-going basis to the lab staff and the Charge Capture Coordinator staff
- Review and resolve exceptions and errors as they relate to Lab Charges and Coding
- Ensure charges are corrected timely so there is no adverse effect on Accounts Receivable
- Accountable for the Billing activities, including oversight of the daily operation of the Charge Capture coordinator, and collaboratively working with the LIS analyst
- Identify and resolve issues
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of directly related work experience
- Coding certificate REQUIRED
- Understanding of charge capture processes
- Understanding of lab coding, late charge entry, charge capture audit application, the CMS coding, and billing regulations
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience using EPIC
